Since Iceberg Lake will likely not have any icebergs in early Sept., I would almost consider a different hike (Highline, Siyeh Pass or Ptarmigan Tunnel) for variety. These programs generally include a tour of the night sky, including constellations and astrononmical objects with the assistance of telescopes, and the importance of dark skies.Īstronomy programs are offered 10 pm to midnight in these two locations on alternating days, Sunday through Wednesday in Apgar and Wednesday through Saturday in St. Grinnell Glacier is better than Iceberg Lake, IMO. The trailhead is right behind the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn. Nightly astronomy programs are typically offered at the Apgar Visitor Center Plaza and at the Dusty Star Observatory, located in the St. Iceberg Lake is located in the Many Glacier area, on the east side of the park.
